Ways to serve in our community
Sock it to 'em!
FPC SOCK DRIVE!
One of the items most requested at Homeless Shelters and Warming Centers is clean/new socks. First Presbyterian Church can make a big positive impact in this area with purchases and/or donations of socks. At only $1.00 per pair (Walmart & Amazon), a purchase or donation of a 12 pack of socks goes a long way. Please help “sock it to” the needs of the homeless in Covington/Newton County by participating in our “Sock It to ‘em” drive on Sunday, March 13th. On Sunday, March 13th, a large basket will be placed in the narthex for packages of socks and for monetary donations.  Please help fill up our basket and “sock it to” cold feet.
Join us as we partner with Good Shepherd Episcopal Church and Oxford College in caring for our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness.

Usher Sign up
All are invited to serve as Ushers at FPC! One goal of our strategic plan is to equip the saints for ministry! Yes, that is you! Our hope is to have all members and active visitors participating in servant leadership through a variety of ministry opportunities!

What is an usher? An usher is a person who shares gifts of hospitality. Ushers are responsible for greeting worship attendees, passing out bulletins, collecting offering, etc. A current elder serves as the Usher chair ensuring all who have signed up to serve are well prepared. We need three ushers every Sunday. Being an usher is a great way to meet our church family!
If you are interested in signing up for a Sunday or two to be an usher email catherine@fpccov.org or click HERE for the direct link!
