If you are having problems signing up, you are welcome to call the church office at 770-786-7321 and Catherine can do it for you.

We are making a new church photo directory! ALL in our FPC family are invited to click the button above to schedule a time slot. Photos will be taken following worship on Sunday, September 10th from 12:30-4:30pm and the next day on Monday, September 11th from 3:30-7:30pm. Each time slot with the photographer is six minutes so be ready to hop in front of the camera when your time comes!

Be part of the wonderful sense of belonging that comes with being able to look through at all the smiling faces of your church family!

If you can’t make it on the 10th or 11th, you can email a photo for the directory to catherine@fpccov.org by September 30th.

If you’d like to help put the directory together (by learning how to add photos or by contacting people to verify their information) talk to Welcome Elder Doug Bolton or contact the office.

Upcoming Ministry Opportunities

Dear Church family,

As you may know, Alicia Taylor has resigned from her position as Director of Music and Worship Arts effective September 17, 2023. We are grateful for the joy, passion, and dedication she has given to our church family.

Therefore, we want to acknowledge her contributions to our church family on Sunday, September 17, during and following worship. We will share in a reception immediately following worship to offer our gratitude! We would also like to extend to Alicia a “love offering” which we will present to her in worship on September 17.

Please contribute by September 12 in one of two ways:

  1. Send cash or check to the Church Office at 1169 Clark Street SW, Covington, GA 30014
  2. Text-to-Give* your donation to the phone number 73256 and type FPCCOV as the message or click here. Follow the prompts and label your contribution: “Love Offering” as the fund.

With gratitude,

                        John McCarthy                                 Neeley Lane

                        Clerk of Session                                           Senior Pastor

This year we will be collecting for the PCUSA Peace & Global Witness Special Offering on Sunday, September 17th!

The Peace & Global Witness Offering encourages the church to cast off anxiety and fear, discord and division, and embrace our God's mission of reconciliation to those around the corner and around the world.

Childcare is provided weekly for FPC's Music Ministry.

The Witness Committee is looking into the possibility of starting a new ministry to visit seniors in local nursing homes. The visits would be to interact with the residents, many of whom have few visitors. If you are interested in helping us start this ministry and feel that you could commit a couple of hours a month to visiting seniors, please contact Curtis Watson.

General Ministry Information

Our WiredWORD class meets in the Gathering Room which is on the upper floor, through the Fireplace Room and near the restrooms. This room is sometimes referred to as "the old choir room" or "the old sanctuary" by long-time members. This class explores current events and discusses how our faith intersects and informs our response.

Our Foundations Sunday School meets in the Adult Classroom which is on lower floor classroom wing at the end of the hall way on the left. This class explores the lectionary scriptures each week, taught by a rotation of teachers.

Youth Sunday School meets in the Youth Classroom which is on the lower floor classroom wing. It is the first classroom on the left, past the restrooms. The class explores the lectionary scriptures each week, often as they relate to the weekly sermon.

Children's Sunday School meets in the Children's Classroom which is the second door on the right of the lower floor classroom wing. Children learn about God's love through the bible, play, and song.

Neeley’s Notions is an email offering that gives Neeley the chance to start a conversation about the inspirations and influences she thinks about while writing her weekly sermon. The email will be sent on Friday mornings when the Spirit leads, and you can reply to the email with your thoughts and stories for Neeley to read.
