Local descendants of East Haddam's first settler families will share stories and photos of their ancestors. You'll recognize the names Bates, Cone, Brainerd, Gates, Ackley, Spencer, Emmons, Beebe, and Hungerford. Most of these families arrived in East Haddam in 1685!

Bruce Sievers, Museum Board President, will lead the roundtable discussion. We welcome your participation and any stories, photos, or documents you may have about the earliest settler families that formed the community that came to be known as East Haddam.

Don't miss the new exhibit First Settler Families of East Haddam! View old photos of the Gates, Brainerd, Spencer, Ackley, Phelps, Hungerford, and Cone families as they went about their daily lives in the beautiful community of East Haddam.
