This workshop will discuss two interrelated topics and their implications for clinical intervention: (1) parents’ prenatal impact on children’s brain-behavior development and (2) parents’ own psychosocial needs during the perinatal period, a time of immense change and neuroplasticity.

Creative Outreach (CO) is a key component of HFA services that ensures we individualize engagement and outreach for families. While being creative is fun it is sometimes confusing to know how to accurately count CO in the CMEDS database.
Let's walk through this visual which illustrates how to enter services in CMEDS when families start CO.
11/1-11/15
This Level 1 family missed two consecutive home visits on 11/8 and 11/15. The FSS entered “No Show” on both dates because the family was not responding to messages from the FSS to reschedule.
“Start CO (Creative Outreach)” was entered on 11/8, the date of the 1st missed visit.
11/22-12/6
The family completes home visits on 11/22, 11/29, and 12/6. Since the family completed at least 75% of the expected home visits for a Level 1 family, Level CO ends and the family returns to Level 1 on 12/6. Entering services in this sequence explains why families are put on Creative Outreach (no show, rescheduled by family/FSS). It also provides a picture of family engagement, when reviewing services in CMEDS.

Going back to school is exciting, but it’s often stressful for kids — and parents. From homework worries to separation anxiety, starting a new school year can be daunting. And getting back into the swing of things tends to be especially difficult for kids who have mental health or learning disorders.
