Dear Faith Family,

Today is Good Friday!

But, why do we call it good? I mean, shouldn’t we call it “Bad Friday” or “Sad Friday”? After all, it was on Good Friday that Jesus experienced his greatest suffering!

Good Friday was the day that the crowds screamed, “Crucify Him”. It was on Friday that Jesus was beaten and a twisted crown of thorns was placed on his head! It was on Friday that Jesus’ hands and feet were nailed to a cross. It was on Friday that Jesus died and his broken body was placed in a grave!

So, what makes it a good Friday?

Well, Good Friday was good because of what Christ’s death accomplished! In 1 Peter 2:24, Peter writes, “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.”

What makes Good Friday so good is that the death we deserved was paid for by the blood of Christ! It was our sin that led Jesus to the cross! He paid our ransom through his death. God’s just judgement was satisfied in him! This is a sobering thought to consider, but one that we must not forget!

Therefore, I want to invite you to join us tonight for our Good Friday service at 6:30 PM in the Worship Center. We will take time to share the Lord’s Supper together and then Rob Hartland will walk us through the events of Good Friday!

But, Good Friday is just part of the story! We have much to celebrate on Easter Sunday and I hope you will plan to join us! We will have two identical services on Sunday at 9 AM and 10:45 AM. We encourage you to invite your family and friends to celebrate our risen Savior!

I can’t wait to worship with you this weekend!

You are loved!

Secret Church 2021

April 23

What is Secret Church?

Secret Church is a global gathering of Christ-followers who join together for an intense time of Bible study and prayer. The event was inspired by our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world who are often forced to gather in secret to study God's Word.

The night is packed with information, inspiration, and dedicated times of prayer. The goal of the night is not just learn and leave, but to study and share.

Who leads Secret Church?

Secret Church is lead by Dr. David Platt. Platt is former President of the International Mission Board (SBC) and currently serves as the Lead Pastor of McLean Bible Church in Washington D.C.

The topic for the evening is: The Great Imbalance. David Platt will focus on the call to make disciples of all nations and the role of every believer in this task!

Hewitt 2020 and Beyond...

In the month of April, we will be launching our next phase of debt reduction and campus renewal. Hewitt 2020 has been an amazing success and has allowed us to reduce our debt and tackle several campus renewal projects! I can’t wait to celebrate all that God has done and look ahead towards our next phase of debt reduction.

We are calling the next phase: From Debt to Love. Our goal will be to completely eliminate our debt over the next 3 years. Imagine the freedom that we could have to love our neighbors and the nations if we were debt free! Imagine the lives that could be changed and the ministries that could be started. These are exciting days to be at First Hewitt and we want to work together to go… ‘From Debt to Love’!  Stay tuned for more details!
