Advent & Christmas End-of-Year Giving

This week, in your mailbox, you will receive a letter from me regarding our year-end giving challenge. These funds will be used to support necessary IT security upgrades to protect our parish information and help cover our rising energy costs, maintenance of our 10 buildings, and resurfacing of our parking lot.

We ask you to prayerfully consider a gift this year. There is a matching gift, which means the value of your donation could double this year.

Home Enthronement of the Sacred Heart

Legion of Mary

The Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in your home is an act of adoration that publicly declares Jesus as “Lord of the Household.” It is more than setting aside a dwelling place for Him in a building; it is the welcoming of the Reign of Christ into the heart of the family who dwells within that place. He becomes the central focus.

Children's Envelopes

Now available in the Welcome Center

Children’s envelopes for giving will be available in the Welcome Center. By involving our children in the act of giving, we empower them to discover the profound joy that comes from helping others. It is not about the amount given but the act of giving itself that counts. Children’s envelopes are not meant to replace weekly family donations, but to use as a simple way to help our children grow into compassionate and generous individuals.

Men: Are you being called to serve as a deacon?

Project Stephen provides an opportunity to actively engage men who are discerning their call to a deeper relationship with God through service as a deacon. This is a time of prayer and reflection, and an opportunity to discuss one’s call with others. Hear witness from a deacon, his sense of call and life of service, and learn about the qualities, characteristics, charisms, and aspects of the diaconate and of formation. The next Project Stephen meetings include the following:

  • Jan. 18 at 7 to 9 p.m. at the Diocese of Austin Pastoral Center in Austin.
  • Jan. 21 at 1 to 3 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Marble Falls.
  • Feb. 18 at 3 to 5 p.m. at St. Joseph in Bryan with 5:30 p.m. Mass to follow.

Please visit the Diocese of Austin’s Project Stephen website austindiocese.org/projectstephen for more information. One can register by email at diaconateformation@austindiocese.org or call the Diaconate Formation Office at (512) 949-2459.
