We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of First Take alumnus Jean Shelton. Jean was well-known in the acting community as a director and teacher and for bringing 'Method Acting' to the Bay Area from the East Coast.
Jean had such a strong commitment to always growing in the craft of acting that she joined First Take as a student after she retired as a director and teacher. Jean practiced what she preached and wanted to learn more about acting for herself and rekindle her joy for acting. She was an incredibly talented actor, and it was a wonderful privilege to know her and have her at our school.
We are grateful for the many years of friendship and collaboration we had with Jean. She will be missed by many in the acting community and our love and condolences go out to her family and all who knew her.
