First Tee to Receive $50,000

Chevron has announced a donation of $100,000, in honor of former U.S. Secretary of State

Dr. Condoleezza Rice, to be shared equally among First Tee – Greater Houston and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston. Dr. Rice, the 66th U.S. Secretary of State, received this honor as the recipient of the inaugural Dinah Award, established by Chevron and Golf Digest this year to recognize individuals who have demonstrated the same attributes that helped Dinah Shore make The Chevron Championship a beacon for women in sport.

The Parent Advisory Council

(PAC) is a dedicated group of parent volunteers who share their time, talents, and perspectives to help strengthen our programs and community.

Composed of parents of active First Tee participants the PAC serves as a vital bridge between families and staff—offering feedback, supporting events, and helping shape a positive experience for all participants.

Applications will open September 1, 2025 for the 2026 Season

The Junior Advisory Board

(JAB) is a group of participants ages 14–18 who represent their peers by helping shape programs and community initiatives that build character and strengthen our local impact.

JAB will operate similarly to a student council, with members electing peers to serve in leadership roles to guide the group’s efforts and represent participant voices.

Applications will open September 1, 2025 for the 2026 Season

From her first class with First Tee over a decade ago to competing on a national stage at the Pure Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach, Peyton has done it all, and now she’s taking the next big step.

We’re proud to announce that Peyton has been awarded a First Tee College Scholarship! This prestigious program recognizes participants who shine in academics, leadership, character, and community service—qualities Peyton has shown time and again.

This fall, she’ll head to Montana State University to further her golf and academic journey, armed with not only a $20,000 scholarship but also mentorship, career-building opportunities, and professional development support through the program.

We know that she's headed for great things and are so excited for her! Congratulations Peyton!

Summer Spotlight

Daudi Ndirangu

Daudi’s First Tee journey began back in fourth grade, when he was chosen to represent his school at our Champions Challenge. From that moment, he’s been a shining part of the First Tee – Greater Houston family, growing both on and off the course.

If you’ve been to F.M. Law Park on a Saturday morning, chances are you’ve seen Daudi leading by example—whether it’s mentoring younger players, supporting programs like Girls Golf, or competing in First Tee tournaments. His dedication and heart for service truly embody the values we teach every day.

LPGA/USGA Girls Golf Leadership Academy

Bailey Rideaux was selected for and attended the LPGA/USGA Girls Golf Leadership Academy this summer! This academy uses golf as a vehicle to provide a framework for young women to develop their confidence, communication, and leadership skills. Congratulations, Bailey!

Our volunteers—adults and teens alike—help kids build confidence, character, and life skills through the game of golf. Whether you’re leading a class, mentoring young players, or supporting behind the scenes, you can make a lasting impact (no golf experience needed!)

Teens (13+) can join our Junior Mentor Program, earning community service hours while guiding younger participants and building leadership skills.

Be a game changer—sign up to volunteer today!
