Pastor's Note

Hi Friends,

It was a real joy to celebrate belonging during worship yesterday! We witnessed the baptism of Alyssia Eden and welcomed six new members into the First Church community. Yay, First Church! Yay, Jesus!

Don and Judy transferred their membership from Loomis FUMC, where they have been attending for the past couple of years. Jaime Lee, whom I had the privilege of baptizing this summer at Kelseyville UMC, became a professing member. Her mother, Denise, was also restored to membership in The United Methodist Church after a lapse in her professing membership at Kelseyville. And Chris, Alyssia’s fiancé, was received as a professing member as well.

What a wonderful reminder that the church is a community where we celebrate new beginnings, renew our commitments, and make room for one another in the family of faith. It was a blessing to share in these meaningful moments and to welcome each person into the life of First Church.

Be sure to extend a warm welcome when you see them along the way.

Peace,

Pastor Angel

Sock-It-To-Me: Keep Our Neighbors Warm & Dry

Help us keep our neighbors warm this winter! We’re collecting new socks, new or gently used coats, and blankets to share with neighbors experiencing homelessness. Your donations can make a meaningful difference for someone facing the cold and wet months ahead.

Please place your donations in the basket at the rear of the sanctuary. Thank you for helping us share warmth, comfort, and care with our community!

All-Church Potluck for All Saints' Day

Join us for a potluck in Backman Hall following service on Nov. 1 as we celebrate All Saints' Day and the end of our Stewardship Campaign. Sign-up sheets will be in the Sanctuary after service this coming Sunday, Oct. 25th. Let's enjoy a meal together as we remember the saints gone before us.

Trunk or Treat

Join us this Halloween, Sat. Oct. 31 from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. as we provide a safe Halloween experience for the community. If you would like to decorate your car we ask that you come 20-30 minutes early for set-up. Costumes not required but preferred to join in on the fun! We would deeply appreciate candy donations. Starting in October there will be a basket in the Sanctuary for candy drop offs.

2026 Church Conference

Our annual Church Conference will be held at Loomis FUMC on Sunday, November 15 at 3:00 p.m. This will be a circuit-wide gathering with our District Superintendent Mike Harrell joining us. More details to come.
