Advent: Recognizing the Way | |
|
Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world by following Jesus, thriving in community, and healing the world. |
|
Friends,
This weekend was filled with all sorts of celebration! On Saturday we celebrated the Christmas season with the Grass Valley Cornish Carol Choir through a concert-lunch fundraiser benefitting First Church Roseville. It was amazing to see our Eleanor Kenitzer, their longtime director, in action and to learn more about the choir's rich history. And, yesterday, on the Second Sunday in Advent, we celebrated the baptism of Melinda Hadley, which tied in well with our reading on John the Baptist, the preparer of the way. What a gift it is to welcome her into the Family of God and into our community of faith!
The celebration continues as we journey through Advent and to Christmas. I hope you join us -- especially this Friday at 'Fun at First Church' for our Holiday Celebration!
