The Foundry 2020
You might have seen something recently about the Discipleship Ministry’s Foundry Program. Our team is so pleased to be able to bring back our one-on-one discipleship program this year, and we hope you will consider getting involved.
Why one-on-one discipleship? Well, first, because Jesus asks us to disciple others the way he did in his earthly ministry. Remember how Jesus called to a few men and asked them to follow him? He formed a special relationship with them, and they were able to see firsthand what the Christian life looks like.
Our goal in this program is to provide a way for those who have walked a little farther with Christ to be able to shepherd and care for those who aren’t quite as far down the path, for pairs of men or women to form this sort of special relationship that Jesus formed with his disciples. What this looks like might vary: for some pairs, it means reading a book together and discussing it; for others, it means going on walks or cooking together while aiming for spiritual conversation. For some, it might be one-on-one and, for others, there may be children underfoot. During this season of COVID-19, it also might look like a Zoom call!
Regardless of the particulars (which will likely look different for each pair!), we hope that this program will allow you the opportunity to connect with someone who might not be on your beaten path and to form a friendship that will provide mutual support and encouragement in Christ.
Registration for both the men’s and women’s Foundry will be available until September 14, and the links to register can be found on the app and the website. We can’t wait to get started the week of September 23!
