Elderly Ministry Survey
The Pastoral Care staff and your Elderly Ministry Committee are excited to send out a survey this week to members age 65 or older. This survey regards ministry to the elderly. No, that does not mean you are considered “elderly” at that age; it only means that you may have information that would benefit us as we plan not only for immediate future, but also for decades to come. The questions encompass a wide range of concerns germane to our senior adult population, including transportation needs of those with mobility challenges, possible seminar topics of interest, and others.
The survey is being sent out in two main formats: email and regular mail. Those for whom we have a valid email address will receive the email version; all others will receive it in the mail. If you receive it in one format but prefer the other, please let us know by calling the church office at 799-9062, Ext. 229 (Bryan Bult), or Ext. 550 (Janet B. Altman). Also, if you need assistance or have questions about the survey, please contact us.
To all those who participate in the survey, thank you in advance. I am confident the responses we receive will provide the important data we need to steward the Lord’s resources wisely at First Presbyterian Church. Our elderly members are one of our congregation’s richest treasures. Our objective, by the Lord’s grace, is to deepen and broaden our ministry to elderly members so that they are as fully engaged in the life of First Presbyterian Church as possible.
Janet B. Altman, our new Coordinator of Ministry to the Elderly, has diligently fine-tuned this survey into a useful tool. If you haven’t met Janet yet, please take time to introduce yourself and welcome her to the staff of First Pres. She is already using her speaking, singing, and administrative gifts to enhance elderly ministry in our midst. We are thankful to have her as part of our ministry team.
All for Christ,
Bryan Bult
Associate Minister to the Elderly
