A Call for Service

One of the ways the Diaconate serves First Presbyterian Church is through the Congregational Care Committee. This committee works alongside the Pastoral Care Department to meet many and various needs within the congregation. Not only is our committee called to meet needs, but it is also charged with building the body in service to help one another.

We want to invite our members to partner with us in bringing support and care to the body of our church. Would you consider offering your time and gifts to help meet these needs? Areas of service include yard clean-up for the elderly, small home repairs, helping with moves, or preparing meals for those recovering from surgery or another infirmness. Other areas include visiting the elderly, running errands, or offering computer help. We would like to create a database of helping hands to call upon when the need arises. If you are interested in joining our Care Ministry, please submit your information to Barbara Diller, Congregational Nurse, through email ( bdiller@firstprescolumbia.org), the church app, or the church website at firstprescolumbia.org/careteams.

Barbara has scheduled a Care Team Training class this fall on Friday, September 20, at The Bridge from 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m., with lunch to follow. Please contact her with your interest in this training.

"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace…whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ." (1 Peter 4:10-11, ESV)

Chairman of the Congregational Care Committee
