First Time! Dads Weigh In! New Babies!

From the Director's Heart

Dear Light and Life Partners,

I spent the last few weeks praying and seeking the Lord for what He might have me to share from this director’s heart. Quite honestly, I was hoping to recall a recent profound moment or event I could write about that might stir your hearts and power up your spirits. But perhaps I was seeking the Lord about this more for me than you. Even so, here is what I believe He has shown me.

God has helped me to see that the daily commitment of our ministry team carrying out the mission of Radiance is profound . He reminded me that hearts and souls are being stirred in the connections we make through the service, care, and reflection of Christ given to all who come through the doors of Radiance. As you read the highlights from our first online event, thoughts from fathers participating in our online parenting program, and go "gaga" over our newest precious Radiance babies, I believe your hearts will be stirred and spirits powered up.

I also believe they are profound moments for Radiance.

FIRST EVER ONLINE EVENT!!

COVID-19 prevented our annual banquet from taking place in March. But on April 30th we hosted an online event, "A Special Celebration of Motherhood" .

We had contributions from some special mothers that included the heartwarming and powerful testimony from Rebecca Joyner of their family's adoption story, an original song called a Mother's Prayer, written and sung by Lycia Kryeziu, and Druid Joyner gave a wonderful financial appeal for our ministry. Thank you to all who were with us in the live premier or watched later and offered positive feedback.

We praise God and give thanks to all who were able to give a financial blessing that generated over $4,500 for the center's ministry.

To say we are in "awe" of how God blessed this event is an understatement.

Dads "Weigh In" About RWC's Parenting Program

We are super excited whenever fathers are able to be part of our Parenting program. Two dads have recently completed the fatherhood lessons through our online Parenting program

One father shared that he liked the lessons because he learned things he did not know . The other father who participated shared, that the lessons helped him realized what he missed and how it affected him not having a father growing up at home. In addition,

this new dad is not only implementing his fatherhood knowledge and skills with his new baby, but he is sharing with his mother who is still raising a younger sibling at home.

Radiance is grateful to our Light and Life partners' support that enables this program to be offered. We believe it helps our families understand and appreciate the value of life. Please join us in praying for these two new dads who, perhaps, feel just a little more equipped and ready because of the Parenting program at Radiance.

We also want to wish all fathers, a very happy Father's Day!

Some areas of ministry at Radiance over the last several weeks:

Praying for the abortion-vulnerable client who did not come back for her scheduled U/S nor respond to followup phone calls.

Seeing the power of prayer work when client calls and asked for U/S appt because she has chosen life.

Consoling and praying with clients who have experienced miscarriages.

Offering support and resources to those who share past sexual abuse experiences.

Encouragement to a young woman that her purity can be regained. Her response, "I have never heard that before."

Making a difference one life at a time!
