Osu and hello Kenshikai students and parents,
These are unprecedented times we are facing. Our dojo has never been closed for this length of time in the 28 years it has been in operation. We want to assure you that we take the health and well-being of our dojo community very seriously. Like you, we are closely monitoring the quickly developing effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we will continue to practice social distancing
We have temporarily closed the dojo to protect and care for our staff, students, parents, and the public.
Our dojo community is like an extended family. We support, encourage, and teach other. The past few days have been so difficult because of our inability to do these things.
Because I would like us to find some normalcy in our day to day routine I will start the first virtual karate class this Monday, March 23. You can take class from your living room, in your favorite park, or in a quiet room. These classes will be offered via
We will have 2 classes on Monday, one for color belt kids and one for all level adults. The color belt kids class is for big kids. It is
for kids that attend the Saturday 9:30 am class, or the Wednesday 4:15 pm class.
Here are the times:
- Color belt kids - 5:30 to 6:30 pm
- All adults - 7:00 to 8:00 pm
Later in the week I will be adding the below classes. Dates for these classes will be sent shortly.
- 4&5 year old white & advance white belt kids

- White belt big kids

Here are a few requirements to join the virtual class:
- Students must be in full gi.
- Parent or care giver must be present during the 4&5 year old classes.
- Student must be currently enrolled and tuition in good standing.
You can sign up for the virtual class by replying to this email with the name of the student taking the class and the class time. We will send you a link and password about 15 minutes prior to the start of the class. The class will be streamed via
. Please make sure you have zoom downloaded on your phone or computer as we will start at 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm sharp. We are limiting both classes on Monday to 15 students each so reply soon.
I would like to reassure all students and parents that your tuition will be credited with the time lost. All days/weeks and classes that were missed because of the closure will be added to your enrollment once the dojo reopens or adjusted if you choose to join us during our virtual class. If you are a student but not currently enrolled and would like to join us in the virtual class you can pay $22 per class via PayPal. Just click on this link:
and enter the amount per class.
These difficult times will pass, until then let us stay positive. Remember the glue that binds us is strong and will keep us connected.
I will send an email announcing when the dojo will open 2 to 3 days prior.
Remain healthy and safe.
