First Week Wrap-Up & Reminders
Overall, we had a great first week of school. Thank you to all of our students, parents, and staff for a tremendous start!
  • If your student is not feeling well or they are awaiting a COVID test result, please do not send them to school.
  • If a member of your household tests positive for COVID, please do not send your child to school. Call the Department of Health at 863-519-7911 for further direction.
  • If your student has been told to quarantine, they may not return to school until after they have completed the quarantine period as specified by the Department of Health. Students on quarantine should contact their teachers by email to discuss how they can keep up with their work.
Harrison T-Shirts
Sunday is the last day to order a t-shirt and support the dance department! All shirts are standard adult t-shirt sizes and you must order online by Sunday, Aug. 15 at 11:59 p.m. Students can pick up their shirts in the HSA Courtyard on the day of delivery. Go to harrisonarts.com/shirts to order yours now!
Late Shuttles Start Monday
The late shuttle buses begin on Monday, August 16. There are three buses that leave HSA at approximately 4:45 p.m. each day and then drop off students at specific locations throughout the county. The buses will run Monday through Friday EXCEPT for student early-dismissal days and prior to major holiday breaks. Students are only permitted to use the late shuttles when staying after for official school business. Click here to view the late shuttle routes for 2021-22. They can also be found on the HSA website.
Form Deadline
Thank you to everyone who has already returned the Back-to-School forms they received from their teachers this week. As a reminder, there are only 3 forms that are required and they are printed on yellow paper. If you haven't done so already, please send ASAP. All forms should be completed and returned by Friday, Aug. 20.
Student Lockers
Locker assignments will start next week during student lunch times in the Harrison courtyard. These lockers are located in the music, dance, and visual art building. Students do NOT need to provide their own locks for these lockers. We will start by allowing Seniors to get lockers on Tuesday, Juniors on Wednesday, Sophomores on Thursday, and Freshmen on Friday. Students in Theatre, Theatre Tech, and Motion Picture Arts who want a locker between the Black Box and the shop should discuss with their teacher.
Parents' Association
Our first HPA meeting of the year will take place on August 31 at 7:00 p.m. in the Harrison Theatre. A virtual option will also be provided, please click here to request a link. We would love for all of our parents to join the HPA as members. There are three different membership levels available. If you would like to join by check, please click here to access the form and mail it in to the school. If you would like to join using your credit card, you can click here to access the online membership form.
Thank you to everyone who has already joined!!

Student Drop-Off/Pick-up Reminders
If you are dropping-off/picking-up students on the Hollingsworth Road side of campus, please note the following:
  • Do not drop-off/pick-up students in the street or on side streets.
  • For morning drop-off, drivers can turn into the drop-off lane from either direction.
  • For afternoon pick-up, the City of Lakeland has a “No Left Turn” sign posted. You must turn right into the pick-up line
  • Please use both lanes and pull all the way forward before dropping students off.
  • You can make a left or right turn when leaving the car line.
  • If you need to switch lanes to turn a specific direction, do that after the Harrison marquee.
  • Please watch for students crossing from other lane.
  • Walkers should use the crosswalks for safety!!

The Lakeland Police Department has been out during these times issuing warnings this week. We have been told they plan to start issuing citations next week. We do not want any parents to receive a ticket from LPD, so we are sending these reminders as a courtesy. Please share with any individuals who may come to the campus to drop-off/pick-up your student.
Parent Portal
Parents can use the Parent Portal (through Focus) to view grades, attendance, test history, etc. If you need to get a PIN to access the portal, please email Mrs. Punausuia at kimberly.punausuia@polk-fl.net.
