Now More Trans Than Ever

TransOhio 15th Annual Trans & Ally Symposium

The LGBTQA Center welcomes the largest gathering of transgender people in the Midwest! The TransOhio Trans & Ally Symposium began as a one day event in 2008, attended by less than 100 people. The symposium has grown to a 3-day conference with over 300 participants, 75+ workshops, entertainment, food, and continuing education credits for medical, legal, and social work professionals.

Coaching with Girls on the Run

Volunteer Opportunity


Girls on the Run coaches are trained volunteers who lead a team of participants through a season of powerful and fun lessons. You do not need to be a runner; you simply need to have a desire to support and encourage the next generation. Civic Engagement Internships with Equitas Health

The Dept. of External Affairs – which leads the agency's public policy, advocacy, and related community engagement work at local, state, and federal levels – is hiring two (2) Civic Engagement Interns for the fall semester. This internship will focus on the coordination of voter registration and get out the vote (GOTV) activities during the upcoming 2024 Election Cycle. This is an excellent opportunity for a student who is interested in work at the intersections of LGBTQ+ rights and civic engagement, and the internship will run from September 3 to December 9, 2024. HUES Women’s Health Advocacy Institute is pleased to offer both stipend and non-paid/for-credit internships. These positions are designed to provide students with hands-on experience, professional development, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that advance health equity and justice for Women of Color in the Greater Dayton and Miami Valley Communities.
