Good Friday Family Service
Families are invited to watch a Godly Play Family Good Friday service. Through story and prayer, Godly Play provides a child-friendly way of exploring the most important story in our Christian faith. This brief service of approximately 20 minutes will help children and their grownups reflect on the mystery of Easter.
"The Bible’s telling of this story is very graphic for a young child, . . . A way to talk about the day is simply to say, 'It was a very sad day. Jesus died and that makes us sad.' . . . A wonderful telling of this narrative is offered via the 'Godly Play: Faces of Easter' which you could watch with your family and then discuss:
Wonder: This is a good day to talk about death and sad things that are relevant to your family. Grief revisited is grief tended, and in time turned toward gratitude.
- I wonder how you feel when you hear this story?
- I wonder what we can do when we feel this way?
- I wonder what you wonder about?"
