McDonald's, Kwik Trip among companies addressing Focal Point 2019
The ninth annual Focal Point conference will feature another great lineup of presenters and we're proud to announce the first two on the slate. Jessica Marshall, a manager in the Global Sustainability department for McDonald's Corporation, and Steve Wrobel, a public relations manager with Kwik Trip, will address Focal Point 2019: Paper-Based Food Packaging and Serviceware.
At McDonald's, Marshall is the sustainability lead for packaging, waste and recycling. She is managing the execution of McDonald's Scale For Good goals around packaging and recycling in the US. She will also be supporting the execution of McDonald's overall waste strategy. Marshall spent her first two years in sustainability initiating and executing efficiency measures in the U.S. restaurants for energy and water. This includes supporting initiatives to find efficient products, piloting and testing in restaurants, measuring the efficiency, and implementing to the system.
Kwik Trip is regularly named among best companies to work for and Wrobel will describe the convenience store chain's "mission-focused culture." After a career in education, during which he'd served as a principal and teacher in schools in Wisconsin, Minnesota and California, Wrobel decided on a new direction. His Kwik Trip career began with a store leader position in La Crosse. He moved to the training department and transitioned to his current role in public relations.
The Focal Point conference is set for October 29 in the Dreyfus University Center at UW-Stevens Point. Expert presenters from companies and organizations across the value-chain will highlight opportunities, challenges and solutions ranging from materials sourcing to end of product life.
Further speaker information will be announced shortly, along with a complete program for the day. Conference registration is open online. Register by October 5 for just $350. The regular registration rate after that date is $450.
