Supporter Spotlight
For this month's Supporter Spotlight, we sat down with The Warren Center, long time supporters of First3Years and good partners of Baby DayThe Warren Center will be joining us in Dallas on February 15th at the  Dallas Museum of Art  and will be providing an exciting interactive activity for guests of Baby Day.

We are excited to share more about their organization and are glad to welcome them as an Organizational Ambassador and Activity Partner in Dallas for Baby Day 2020!

Tell us a little bit more about your organization.
"The Warren Center is a nonprofit organization that provides evaluations, therapy services and support to children and families impacted by developmental delays and disabilities. Our focus is on early childhood intervention so we see children from birth until their eighth birthday. The therapy we provide includes speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, specialized skills training and feeding therapy. We even have social workers and a dietitian on staff. Over our 50 years of service, we have helped thousands of families.  We have a team of medical professionals that are focused on helping children reach their full potential. I also want to emphasize that we see children with an array of conditions or concerns - from children who have some type of medical diagnosis- to children who are undiagnosed or just need help getting over a developmental hurdle. No matter what, we are there for the family."

What inspired your organization to become a Baby Day Ambassador?
"The Warren Center's mission is to advocate, serve, and empower the children and families impacted by developmental delays and disabilities. We know that the first three years of life are a crucial time of setting the stage for a child to reach their full potential. With this mission in mind, we work hard to ensure children get the support and services they need at the earliest stage possible and we know that is a mission of yours as well. We have collaborated with First3Years since its inception and we are happy to continue to collaborate with your organization."

How does your organization's work in the community align with Baby Day and First3Years?
"We are here to make sure that children, as well as their families, have what they need to be successful. It is important to us that children get the help that they need as early as possible so they can be as successful in life as possible, and that is all encompassing - everything that is required for a family to get what they need to be successful and happy and productive."

Is there anything else you might want to share about your organization?
"At The Warren Center we involve the entire family in the process. Therefore, we have a parent-coaching model. While we are providing therapy, we encourage the parents or caregivers to take a hands-on approach. We teach them techniques during the sessions that help them continue the therapy throughout the week. We also coach the parents through life scenarios. We understand that every family is different and every child is different, so we create programs that are unique to their family's situation. However, we do not stop at therapy. Our therapists, in collaboration with our family education and support team, support the families with emotional support, education, or collaborations with other organizations. We have had instances where we discovered that a family had no food, or electricity, even clothes for their children. Our team steps in and connects them with the resources they need. We know that if the basic needs of life are not met, it is extremely difficult for a family to focus on the developmental needs of their child. We want to see the entire family thrive."
