FISCHOFF NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ANNOUNCED

SOUTH BEND, IN – November 2, 2022 - The Fischoff National Chamber Music Association President Randy Kelly, on behalf of the Board of Directors and Artistic Director Thomas Rosenberg, today announced the appointment of Dr. Scott Campbell as its Executive Director. Dr. Campbell began his new position on October 31, 2022. Randy Kelly said, "Fischoff is very fortunate to have found a talented musician and professional of Scott’s caliber to lead Fischoff in this its 50th year and beyond.” 

Scott comes to Fischoff from Conn-Selmer where he has served as the Director of Woodwind Product Management. During his tenure Campbell significantly grew their woodwinds category in all aspects of the business and honed his skills in product research and development, project management, marketing, strategic planning and entrepreneurship. Previous to joining Conn-Selmer, Scott was already a highly accomplished saxophone player and Conn-Selmer Artist working in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. With over 10 years of performance experience, Dr. Campbell has been Adjunct Professor of Music with Southwestern Adventist University (Keene, TX) and Mountain View College (Dallas, TX). He also maintained a private saxophone studio with over 80 students in the Lone Star State.

Scott earned his Bachelor of Music in Woodwind Performance from Brigham Young University (Laie, Hawaii); his Master of Music in Saxophone Performance from Southeastern Louisiana University (Hammond, LA); and his Doctor of Musical Arts in Saxophone Performance from the University of North Texas (Denton, TX).

Campbell is taking over from Kara Kane who will be staying on at Fischoff assuming the role of Education Director. Randy Kelly commented that “Kara has been amazing in serving Fischoff over the last three years successfully stabilizing and growing the organization during COVID and bringing us back to in-person programming stronger than ever before. We are fortunate to have both Scott taking on the leadership role of Fischoff and Kara staying on to direct our educational programming as we continue to grow Fischoff’s reach in the community, state, nation and worldwide.”  

Tom Rosenberg said, “Scott brings experience, energy, passion, and is a wonderful champion for musicians and educational programming. I am thrilled to have Scott join the Fischoff team and that Kara is staying on as Education Director.”

Founded in 1973 in South Bend, Indiana, the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition has grown to become the largest chamber music competition in the United States, and one of the most prestigious classical music prizes attainable today. Since its founding, more than 7,800 musicians have participated, many of whom have gone on to distinguished careers in music performance and education.
