Our Youth Make A Difference
Remember Lauren Reho?
She first started her volunteering with us while in high school, raising money as part of the Miss Niceville High School pageant, donating $2100 as the Peoples Choice/Runner UP, she joined us as Dorothy with the Grand Boulevard Festival of Trees, we placed second, joined us for the Helping Heroes Gala, parents and sister in tow, and this past Christmas, she came home from college and hosted a fundraiser with her mom and friends, raising another $760 for our families. I love this girl and her heart for serving military and veteran families. l HEY, she is part of a military family too and they raised her right. Kudos Pam and Pete! Lauren will also be coming home from school in April to volunteer at the Wine Festival. The sky is the limit!

"That's my big project", Kathryn Guidry is quoted.
I almost cried when I read these words......Destin Banner Art brings coastal flair to Main Street in Destin and our Community Ambassador, Kathryn Guidry of Valparaiso, was a featured artist and painted a sunset scene with a heron.  In her interview, which appears below in the link, she said, "Fisher House, that's my big project". Gosh, I love her and the impact she makes is b-i-g!

Many of you know Kathryn as our designer extraordinaire, contributing to all our creative projects throughout the year from Wearable Art, to Gala Decor, Festival of Trees and the Greeting Card at Eglin. Kathryn was interviewed for the banner art, and courtesy of the Destin Log, the article appears below. Kathryn was joined in this effort with another incredible Fisher House supporter, Kathy Schumacher who donates highly sought after art each year at our Helping Heroes Gala.

What's your big project and how are you making a difference in the life of someone else?

Families are placed in partner hotels at our expense, thanks to our generous community. Help keep military and veteran families together for hope and healing.

Welcome Michael Ambrose, New Board Member
We are blessed with some VIP members of our community who want to bless our military in a big way. Michael is retired from the Navy, has spent decades serving our Veteran population and resides in Pensacola. As our footprint of care spans from Pensacola to Panama City, we are pleased to have additional presence in this community. An opening still remains in Panama City.
Emerald Coast Hospice donates a bunch of blankets!
Many hearts and hands are staying busy during the pandemic to bless others. Emerald Coast Hospice serves as a donation point for many groups who make blankets to bless others. We received a donation of these blankets to make our families feel welcome and a little more warm during their stay. These donated blankets will join those personally made by Lois and Virginia to keep our babies feeling the Fisher House love.
