Human Resources
Hometown:
Proctor, VT

Family:
It is just the 3 of us: myself, my husband, and our son. I am much more laid back and "Vermonty" than you might think. My husband and I were married at a state park campground and had a BBQ.

Pets:
2 dogs and 1 hamster. I told our son, no reptiles.

Guilty Pleasure:
Competition Reality TV shows - I love Alone! I know some of those shows aren't actual reality, but they are entertaining!

Pet Peeves:
When someone waves me through a 4-way stop sign even though it is not my turn. You stop, you go. That's how it works, people.

Hobbies:
Art - photography, painting, and drawing. And Disney! When I was a kid, my dream job was being a Disney animator.
Favorite Color:
Green

First Job:
Fountain Worker, scooping ice cream at Friendly's

Something everyone should know about you:
I always give it my all no matter what I am trying to accomplish and try to encourage others to do the same. I would rather teach someone how to solve a problem rather than give them the answer.

What is something about you no one would ever guess?
I am a closet video gamer - spent countless hours in my twenties leveling up my toons in World of Warcraft. Ding!

Best advice you've ever received:
Be fearless - when you are not afraid to do it wrong the first time, you will eventually get it right.

Best thing about your job:
I do what I do in Human Resources for our employees. We have the best employees and I love helping them. Our employees have taught me so much and I value each and every one of you.
Details from the 1st Fishing Trip!
Chris & Chris made it a memorable one!
Chris Delpha was the winner of the first fishing excursion with Fisherman Chris Adams, and Chris & Chris set out for their trip on September 19, 2020.
Chris Adams filled us in on their eventful day:

"When we were coordinating plans for the day, I asked Chris if he'd like to just go do some relaxing fun fishing for the day, or jump into a team tournament with me as my partner - still fun, but just a little more intense and competitive.

Chris said he wanted to do a tourney, so we fished in the Outcast Angler Series season finale on Champlain, a 6:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. event with about 20 other teams. We had a quick start to the day, catching two good fish early on and a few smaller ones as well.

We had a bit of a mid-morning lull in action despite seeing some fish we weren't able to catch. At about 9:40 a.m., I said to Chris I thought we could stay at the fishing spot we were at, and definitely catch a few more, but I wasn't sure if that strategy would give us a chance to win. I thought we could do well, but we wanted to win. I said to him that I had a group of fish a little further away, and that it would be a gamble, but if it worked out we would catch some big ones. Chris was all in for the move and helped me reaffirm my decision to go for the win and gamble a bit.

We arrived at the next spot and quickly started catching bigger fish, probably ten in total. Chris caught four fish in about an hour, including one of our biggest fish of the day. All said and done, we weighed a 5-fish limit of smallmouth bass weighing 19 pounds, won the tournament by over four pounds ahead of the second place team, and also got the big fish of the tournament.

It was a great day, Chris was an awesome guest and I hope he had a good time. Beautiful weather, although a little windy, big Champlain bass, and good company on the boat. Hard to beat. Another great experience as part of this new partnership with Casella Construction."

Safety Topic: Slips and Trips
Slips and trips can occur at any time for a variety of reasons and can cause severe injury or even prove to be fatal.
As the temperature gets low at night, it is possible for condensation to develop on equipment, work surfaces, or the ground. Condensation can create a greater opportunity for slips on surfaces, or for dirt/mud to become stuck to boots and equipment, decreasing expected traction while climbing on vehicles.

Please follow these tips to stay safe:
  • Pay attention to the current condition of any surface you attempt to work on.
  • Clean footwear of any debris that could cause a loss of traction before attempting to mount or dismount a vehicle.
  • Proper housekeeping of vehicles and work surfaces will also help to prevent any slips and trips.
  • Always make sure any tools or materials are properly stored so that they do not create a potential tripping hazard.
  • Cords for electric tools should not cross paths of frequent foot traffic and cords should be properly wrapped when tools are stored.
  • If signage or parking cones are necessary, they should never be placed in the footpath of workers or pedestrians.
