Heli Fishing

Week 12

In the twelfth week of our helifishing program we were graced with the presence of a beautiful mixed group led by Charlie White, visiting us from England, Canada, and Scotland. We share the privilege of being some of the few who can appreciate the immensity of the intact jungle.

The week began with extreme heat that lowered the level of the rivers and turned the water gin clear, making fishing laborious and technical. Despite this, our group honored us by offering great physical effort to achieve good results. Then towards the end of the week, conditions improved and so did the fishing. The reward arrived and we crowned the week with an excellent closing and key catches.

 Secure

Week 18

The last chapter on Sécure Lodge was written by six guests, all of them from USA.

The water condition was low and warm everywhere, particularly downstream, on the lower sections. Despite that, the biggest fish of the week was hooked there, playing on surface a Titanic slider in a narrow channel—a monster which bent a Tiemco 600SP and won the fight.

The upper beats and headwaters faraway up above the out camp showed challenging situations due to the level of water, but every day gave us chances with all size dorado and pacú. One of the very big golden ones was landed in the Maniquicito, an amazing gift for an amazing day in that marvelous creek.

The biggest dorado of the week was a 22-pounder, and the biggest pacú was a 20-pounder black plate.

 Pluma

Week 18

On the 18th week of the season at Tsimané Pluma Lodge we hosted a group of our friends of Yellow Dog Fly Fishing. The week started with hot weather, perfect for pacú action on dry flies. During these days many big dorado over 35 inches showed up, too. In the middle of the week temperature dropped more than 10 degrees, but fish remained active and all anglers got their golden trophy.

Agua Negra

Week 18

Last week we had a visit from five friends who traveled from Switzerland to share and live the jungle experience with us. High temperatures and low water made the start of the week a bit difficult, mainly on the main Sécure River. Even with low water levels, the tributaries (the Agua Negra and Chimoro) always maintain a more pleasant temperature in the water, which gave us better chances and that is where we landed most of the fish. A few windy days in the middle of the week created the perfect conditions for very good pacú and yatoranas fishing with dry flies.
