Pluma Lodge

Week 1

8-15 June 2024

We opened the season with a lot of sábalo arriving in both the Secure and Pluma rivers. The fishing has been very good with many catches, and we’ve observed many dorado hunting in all the fishing beats.

There were also some excellent surface catches. Notably, two dorado weighing 13 and 15 pounds were caught, as well as two large pacú weighing 16 pounds. Many migratory dorado weighing 7-8 pounds were also caught, and we managed to catch yatoranas using fruit imitations. The season opener concluded excellently.

Week 2

7-14 June 2024

The second week of the season started off at Secure Lodge as we received a group of six anglers: four Canadians coming for their fourth jungle trip, a Bolivian for the third, and one American living his first experience with dorado.

The week began with very good odds, and with a run of “mojarras” (our small baitfish) the dorado turned very active, with the group landing good-sized fish in the upper and lower sections. Due to the increase of temperatures in both air and water, the pacú also showed up, giving us the chance to strand a good number on the shores.

At the end of the week anglers fished in both creeks, giving us the two biggest fish of the week: a 22lb. dorado and an 18l.b pacú.

Agua Negra Lodge

Week 3

7-14 June 2024

The third week of the season, after having had a run of dorado and sábalo the previous days, we had to look for the fish a little more upstream in the tributaries. Again, Agua Negra and Chimoro were the stars of the week.

Spending a night in the Upper Agua Negra, Eduardo and his daughter Mercedes enjoyed our out-camp and had many good chances of dorados and pacú.

The weather was good throughout the week with sunny days and pleasant nights. By the end of the week, we managed to land four big pacú, three dorado over 12lbs. as well as more than 10 small and medium-size dorado, and some yatorana in the Chimoro River.
