Pluma Lodge

Week 5

6-13 July 2024

The fifth week of the season began with a lot of rain. Due to the drop in water temperature the fishing was slower, but we were able to catch good-sized resident dorado as well as pacú and yatorana with streamers imitating small bait fish. This week we had clients from Austria, England, the United States, and Germany.

Secure

Week 7

5-12 July 2024

This week Sécure Lodge hosted a group of four friends from Colombia, and we all had an amazing time. Our chapter six started off with a cold front which dropped both the air and water temperature. By midweek, thanks to continuous and stable low temps, the dorado slowly started feeding. We had opportunities waiting for some feeding frenzies on the banks as well as fishing the lower sections casting big flies by the logs.

Being persistent and casting all day long under rain and wind finally paid off, with the team landing good-sized dorado in the 8 and 16-lb. range in the lower beats. Despite the low water temperature, we found pacú in the deeper pools with fruit imitation as well as dark, short flies.

Agua Negra Lodge

Week 7

5-12 July 2024

Last week was one of the coldest of the season so far due to a southern front that arrived at the beginning of the week. The fishing in the tributaries such as the Chimoro and the Agua Negra was a bit slower due to the drop in water temperature, but even so we had very good luck fishing structures in the Sécure River since the water took a little longer to cool down.

The rains did not affect the level of the rivers, which allowed us to get more than 15 dorado and two pacú fishing sticks, and even having several chances for more fish.
