Fit News, September 2020
Greetings!
September is a fantastic time to commit to getting fit and to make your exercise resolutions a reality. Summer this year was very short, and soon will be over. The children are back at school, hopefully to stay, and most people are back at work. After been locked down for half a year, eaten, drunk and indulged aplenty, you may well be feeling as though it’s time to make some changes and get your health and wellbeing back on track.

If this resonates with you and you are keen to feel fit and healthy, then no matter what is going on in the world, September is a great time to embark on your new health, fitness and wellbeing mission. Regardless of whether your goal is to lose a few pounds, maintain your current weight, get fit and increase your stamina levels, or tone up your muscles, exercising regularly and eating a healthy, nutritious diet are the two best things you can do for your body. Staying strong is staying healthy.

Ensure you drink plenty of fresh filtered or mineral water to help your body flush out those toxins. And try eating a little and often instead. Here is an example of a well-balanced daily meal plan which includes every main food group and plenty of fruit and vegetables. A healthy breakfast of oats, yogurt and fruit, a mid-morning snack of unsalted nuts and an apple, a salad for lunch containing some lean protein such as chicken, fish, eggs or tofu, a mid-afternoon snack of carrot, cucumber and houmous, and then a dinner of grilled salmon or tuna, tofu stir fry, or steamed veggies with grilled chicken, and a jacket potato.

Good things come to those who stay strong…
