OC San Reaches Major Recycling Milestone
Earlier this month OC San met a HUGE milestone - recycling 100 percent of the reclaimable flow.

Achieving this goal was part of the policy set by the OC San Board of Directors and noted in the 2021 Strategic Plan. The treated effluent produced from OC San’s Plant Nos. 1 and 2 is a valuable resource that can help boost local water resources and reduce dependence on imported water, while reducing the effluent discharged to the ocean. Recycling 100 percent of the reclaimable flow supports the Groundwater Replenishment System (GWRS) Final Expansion by allowing it to operate at full capacity of 130 million gallons daily (MGD). This is enough water for 1 million people in Orange County.
