Announcements for Parents

Santa Claus is Comin' to Town... and We Need YOUR Help!

Our Five Points PTO is thrilled to continue their tradition of having Santa visit the school and pass out gifts to the classrooms on December 19th.

We Ho-Ho-Hope you would like to help us by being one of Santa's elves! We asked the teachers to provide us with a wish list for their classrooms, so the elves knew what the students would love for their classroom.

Parents, we would love your help! Here is a list of what is needed if you are able to donate. Please send the item/s to school clearly marked for PTO, UNWRAPPED by DECEMBER 12TH. You can drop them off in the office with a note "Attn: PTO" on it and we will help get Santa's gifts organized, wrapped and ready.

The PTO thanks you. The students always love getting new things to learn and play with in their classroom and we couldn't do this with you!

Five Points Holiday Shop Returns!

Five Points PTO is excited to offer this one-day-only opportunity for students to shop for loved ones! This event will occur on Saturday, December 9th from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in the Five Points cafeteria. Volunteers will be available to help students shop and wrap their gifts. Items range in price from $.25 to $12. Cash and checks will be accepted. Shop early for the best selection!

The Springboro High School Jazz Choir will sing carols at 10:30am, and SANTA will be present for the event as all! Cookies and milk will be available and The Real Life Church will donate coffee for grownups; all while supplies last! Children of all ages are welcome!

For planning purposes, you MUST register for a time through EventBrite. One registration per family!

Calling all Holiday Helpers!

The Holiday Shop will return this year on Saturday, Dec. 9th! However, we need many volunteers to run a successful Holiday Shop. Volunteers are needed for assisting students with shopping, gift wrapping, passing out food and drinks, and fun holiday themed activities! Because this event is on a Saturday, volunteers do not need to have a background check on file. We hope this allows more caregivers an opportunity to help!

Five Points Holly Jolly Helpers

As a special way of celebrating the holidays, Five Points Elementary is sponsoring a donation drive to help children and families locally through Warren County Children Services. Warren County Children Services accepts donations on behalf of children and families in three main areas: Prevention, Beds for Children, and Holiday Sponsorship. Prevention funds are used in situations to prevent the removal of a child, such as helping a struggling family with disconnected utility service.

Donations for beds and bedding are needed as many of the children they serve either do not have beds, or have substandard bedding. Appropriate bedding is important for child development and daily functioning. Donations will also go to their Holiday Sponsorship program to help purchase Christmas presents for children.

We are asking all Five Points Elementary students to become “Holly Jolly Helpers” and practice Generosity, during the “12 days of Christmas” by helping out and doing extra chores at home to earn money to donate. Students may start their jobs as soon as they would like, and they can bring their monetary donations into school starting on December 4th. We will continue to collect donations through Tuesday, December 19th. To add a little fun to this service project, the grade level who collects the most money will participate in a fun school assembly where the staff member of their choosing will be duct-taped to the wall.

The winning grade level will be announced on the last day before break, Wednesday, December 20th, and the duct-tape assembly will take place after the holiday break in January. Cash or check donations will be collected by the student’s homeroom teacher. Checks should be made out to Five Points Elementary. Click HERE for a printable Holly Jolly Helpers flyer.

Car Rider Drop Off in the A.M.

Parents who drive their child(ren) to school will begin the car line around the building on the WEST side - at Door 3 (gym). PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF YOUR CHILD IN THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING. Drop off may begin at 8:00 a.m. A staff member will be at Door 3 each morning to monitor arriving students. Students will go to the gym and will be monitored by a staff member until dismissed at 8:15 a.m. Parents will loop around the staff parking lot and exit out the west front exit. Please watch for students using our cross-walk.

Car Rider & Daycare Pick Up - P.M. - DISMISSAL

The car rider line will form around the front of the building to the West side staff parking lot. Please stay on the left side of the lane as you enter school grounds, and then you will merge into one of two lanes next to the curb. Staff members will be present to direct traffic in the front of the school. PLEASE have your car number displayed and ready to go at ALL TIMES as you proceed through the car line!  Staff members will be collecting numbers as the line forms. Students will be dismissed in groups based on your position in line. For safety reasons, students must enter the car on the curb side only. Please follow the direction of our staff members to ensure a smooth pick-up process. Please DO NOT park in the staff parking lot and cross the line of traffic to pick-up your child(ren). You also may not park in the front of the school to pick up your child(ren). All car riders must follow this process in order to ensure the safety of all students.

When in the car line, please be cognizant not to block he handicap ramp located in the front of the school. This ramp should always be clear and not be blocked by any vehicles at any time. Additionally, when in the line, please be sure to pull up as close as possible to the vehicle in front of you in order to allow for as many cars as possible in our car line.

Please click here to review the route map for A.M. & P.M car riders.

End of the Day - DISMISSAL

Pick up at the end of the day should occur in our car line unless your child is a walker or is riding the bus home. Parents should not be parking and meeting students in the front of the building, or in the main office unless you were called for a sick child, you forgot your car rider number, or special arrangements have been made with administration. Students will not be dismissed to a parked car in the front lot. We appreciate your attention to our dismissal guidelines!

Change in PM Dismissal Communication

If you need to notify the school that your child(ren) will need to change the way he/she typically goes home from school, please contact the office 937-748-6090 as soon as possible. It is always best to send in a note for the change when advance notice can be given. You may also email our receptionist, Patty Wolpert. Having the communication in advance, helps us to ensure we are able to dismiss our bus fleet in a timely manner.

If you send an email to your child's classroom teacher of a schedule change, please include Mrs. Wolpert (pwolpert@springboro.org) on the email as teachers may not have an opportunity to check their email in the late afternoon, prior to dismissal time.

Daycare Communication ... IMPORTANT

If there is a change in transportation, or your child goes home prior to dismissal, please notify your daycare provider of the change. This notification is extremely important as it will allow for our bus dismissal to happen in a timely manner.
