5 Things to Know About This Fall at St Andrews

Welcome to the first edition of "Five Things to Know" about your St. Andrew’s community! We’re trying out a new way to share news about the many things happening here, and we hope it helps you stay connected. I invite you to join us for these and other upcoming events as you are able. As always, your feedback is most welcome.

Peace, Paul

Medical Decision Making on November 9

"The ABC’s of Aging Concerns:
From Geriatric Syndromes to Downsizing"

The Episcopal Health Ministry invites you to join Leslie Dubin, MSW, a clinical social worker for the University of Michigan Hospital’s Geriatric Inpatient Consultation Team, for a special presentation on "The ABC's of Aging Concerns."

About EHM's Medical Decision Making Series: Members of the congregation have expressed interest and concerns about such things as when to explore one’s place of living opportunities, the difficulty of having to make hard decisions, being honest about one's challenges, needs, social needs, financial needs, and other questions. These questions occur to older members, but younger members may have parents they are concerned about as well.

ANNOUNCEMENTS & UPCOMING EVENTS

Around the Parish

Welcome, Felicity!

Please join me in warmly welcoming Felicity Thompson back to St. Andrew’s this fall as our seminarian. We have been honored to sponsor Felicity in the ordination process for the priesthood, during which she has completed several years of field education placements in churches around the diocese. As she nears the completion of her formation, I am delighted that she will be here with us—assisting in worship on Sundays and offering pastoral care during the week, while focusing on her remaining coursework. Welcome, Felicity!
