Five Ways to Show Pets We Love Them
This Valentine’s Day

Los Angeles, February 12, 2021 – Valentine’s Day is all about love, and because our pets are always there for us and ready to give us their unconditional love, let’s show some extra TLC and attention to our lovable animal companions.

Here are five ways to enjoy the day with your furry Valentines:

Exercise and play games.

Exercise is a vital part of enriching your pets’ lives. For dogs, walking, running, and playing fetch are great ways to bond with your canine friends, while cats enjoy interactive play so a wand toy or a rolled-up piece of paper will keep your cat entertained as they chase it around.

Ensure your pet is licensed and microchipped.

By making sure your dog’s license is up-to-date and that their microchip has your most current contact information will help to reunite you with your lost pet and get them back home.
Treat them with some extra TLC.

You don’t always have to use food as a reward for your animal companion, sometimes giving them lots of praise, a good belly rub, or friendly scratch in their favorite spot will get them purring or wagging their tails.
Spay and neuter the ones you love.

Spaying and neutering has many health benefits for your four-legged friends that include preventing unwanted litters, discouraging roaming to keep them close to home, and decreasing the risk of certain cancers.

In Los Angeles, it’s the law for dogs and cats over the age of four months to be spayed or neutered.
Share your love with pets in our community.

Help keep mobile spay and neuter clinics on the road for pets in our community by making a donation.

An anonymous donor has pledged $25,000 in matching funds to donations made to the LA Animal Services’ Spay/Neuter Trust Fund. Please consider making a donation because a gift from you for any amount will help us reach our goal.

We are at $15,219.25 of our $25,000 goal!
