About filmmaker Bob Dolgan
Bob Dolgan created his first film, "Monty and Rose," as a volunteer Piping Plover monitor in Chicago in 2019. His efforts have resulted in the creation of Illinois Piping Plover Day, as declared by Governor J.B. Pritzker, and national and local media attention for the plovers. This year the Chicago Park District expanded the natural area at Montrose Beach by 3.1 acres to accommodate the Piping Plovers and several other bird and plant species. Bob is an Ambassador for the American Bird Conservancy and a past Board Member of the Chicago Ornithological Society. He coordinates the annual Christmas Bird Count and serves as a volunteer for a number of other bird conservation initiatives. He and his wife, Kristin, reside in the Jefferson Park neighborhood with their two daughters. CLICK HERE to read more about the “Monty and Rose” films.
