Unlike "up north", the spring rains do not visit Florida. This dry time is great for checking and replacing your windshield wipers before the rainy season in June. The newer vehicles can go years without changing but most of the classics have a smaller blade, therefore spliting at a faster rate. Even though you try to avoid the rain, sometimes it can't be helped. There's nothing worse than that first wipe and the metal clip end puts a half moon scratch into your window. I know first hand.
In addition (not in lieu of) to the new wiper blades is RainX or a polish/wax. It helps bead the water in light to medium rain. Windex or a glass cleaner does not do that. I've always used Dri Wash on my windows. No streaks and repels water. So the next time you clean the show car, put wax/polish on the front windshield. You never know when the rains will get you.
Happy cruising during this beautiful time of year.
