Here we are once again, another year gone and another year to look forward to. I remember when we made the big leap from 1999 to 2000. Y2k...remember the drama. 2026 seemed so far away, yet here we are. I heard Nirvana on the radio the other day and thought that this is considered classic rock now. 35 or so years old, it is still seems new to me.
So what are you going to do in the new year? Any resolutions to make and then break? I'm going to fix two cars; the GTX that quit running 3 years ago (fuel pump is my guess) and the Nova needs the seats re-installed (down for a year). Resolutions are easy to keep if they are definite. Start a project and put a time limit on it, that way it is easier to complete.
I hope to stay healthy this year. Number one priority. We lose so many car people every month, I lost my step-mother and my best little car buddy, Toby, in 2025. No more funerals for me.
I'm going to do more traveling this year. We got a little pop-up camper and just completed our first little trip. There are many small but beautiful state parks in Florida. Did you know that Florida has an internationally recognized Dark Sky Park? The Kissimmee Prairie Preserve in Okeechobee. That's my next trip. I can fully appreciate the people that restore and travel with vintage campers. The fun they must have. The Tin Can Tourists have been traveling the US for years.
The best part of the new year is that we live in the sunshine state and most of the country is blanketed in crappy weather.
