If you are from "up north", car show season is usually from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The first 60 degree sunny day, you got the old car out and put the windows down. You may get lucky and hit a Halloween show that includes a bonfire. But this is Florida and everything is different here. Car show season in Florida is mainly Oct 1 to May 1. Here's why:
First, it's not only too hot but you'll break a sweat walking to your car due to the humidity. Mildew grows on my vinyl seats during the summer. There are shows all year long, but seriously dwindle during this time.
Second, the snow birds fly north around April 1 and return when they receive the first couple cold snaps. This group adds significant attendance to our Florida shows.
Third, there are many other activities that people enjoy during the summer, which mainly includes water. Beach, boating, and pool time.
Fourth, is rain, rain, and more rain. Florida is tropical, therefore the rains come frequently and usually unannounced. Don't ever leave your car with the windows down.
When October arrives we know the shows will be more plentiful and with larger audiences. Sometimes it is very hard to pick where to go because there are so many. Watch the website frequently because we get show submissions daily.
Also....I like to keep my email list clean, because the cost per email is high. I will be deleting those that only open a few times a year. If you don't want to open them, please unsubscribe. You can also resubscribe later. I appreciate those of you that do.
