The American flag represents us in good times and bad. Think of Buzz Aldrin saluting the flag on the moon or New York firefighters hoisting the flag at Ground Zero after 9/11. This has been a difficult year for our country, but flying the flag can be a symbol of hope that we will get through this, just like Americans who came before us.

Join The American Legion Family in proudly flying the U.S. flag Sunday, June 14, for Flag Day. ALA units and Legion posts across the country will also conduct proper flag-collection and retirement ceremonies, host flag education sessions, and encourage all Americans to fly their U.S. flag this day and throughout the year.
