Sustainable Spent Grain

Flagstaff breweries provide a sustainable option with spent grain for northern Arizona ranchers to feed their cattle and livestock. Mother Road Brewing Company produces an average of 45,000 lbs of spent grain per week. That is 2.3 million lbs per year! Mother Road Brewery also uses its spent grain to make “Woof 66” dog treats. Flagstaff breweries pride themselves on being sustainable during the brewing process to reduce their carbon footprint, and spent grain is a win-win-win for farmers, livestock, and landfills.

Did you know you can support Flagstaff’s sustainable mountain craft brew culture and enjoy Arizona's leading craft beer city on the Flagstaff Brewery Trail? The Flagstaff Brewery Trail is your self-guided beer tasting adventure with eight award-winning local breweries that have something for everyone's craft brew palate, from distinctive IPAs and light-hearted Sessions to limited-edition brews and Kölsch-style ales.
