CoreVirtues  Letter from Sharon Aguina, Executive Principal

Dear Flagstaff Families,

As we reflect on the 2017-2018 school year, please join me and the Flagstaff Academy staff in acknowledging and celebrating the many spectacular learning experiences and educational opportunities that have taken place for our students in creative and innovative ways. O ur minds and hearts are filled to the brim. It's been such an outstanding year! Together we've learned much and shared experiences that will remain with us in the years to come. The strength of our community and wholehearted passion to make our school the best place of learning for our children is what makes Flagstaff Academy a special place.

Together we have planned and executed exemplary teaching practices and held students to high standards and expectations. Flagstaff Academy's unique character, excellence in teaching, and the tremendous dedication and talent of our staff continues to make it a special learning environment.

For the next school year, we have many things to look forward to. We will be focusing on strengthening curriculum development and implementation for Science, Gifted and Talented Education, and our new STEM lab. The new EnVision 2.0 math for Kindergarten through Grade 5 will offer many more opportunities and resources to our children and parents.

You will receive the iReady student profile coming home with your child prior to the last day of school. This report tells what areas your student knows well and what areas they need to explore next in math. iReady instructional programs in math and reading are available to our students all summer.  I will be sending information about the new math website resources soon after the end of this school year.

In order for you to sample the new elementary math resources, below is the access to for a demo account that is like the one that will be assigned to you and your student for next year. This demo is for the third grade and you can access a variety of resources. Next year you will receive your student's login and be able to see what your student sees. The video will walk you through everything available and where to find a variety of resources.

Special thanks to our parents who have contributed in small, large, and unimaginable ways! I would also like to thank ALL our hard working and caring staff members who have made a huge difference to our students. Their commitment and dedication are commendable, and our kids are the beneficiaries.

In closing, I take this opportunity to congratulate all students of Flagstaff Academy!
I wish you all a very happy, safe, and enjoyable summer.
