CoreVirtues  Letter from Sharon Aguina, Executive Principal

Dear Flagstaff Families,
Just a reminder that students grades 3-8 will be taking their CMAS Assessments during the testing window of April 9-27.  Our students take the CMAS Assessment (Colorado Measure of Academic Standards) based on the PARCC Platform. The content of the test is aligned to Colorado State Standards derived from Common Core State Standards. The CMAS will be taken during the following time period:

CMAS: Monday, April 9-Friday, April 27
English Language Arts and Math - Grades 3-8
Science - Grades 5, 8
Social Studies - Grades 4, 7

The test is important because it shows how well our students at Flagstaff Academy are doing, and it also shows the high level of thinking that students are able to apply. We are being asked by the state to increase our participation from last year and are hoping for a 95% participation rate in our CMAS testing this year!!

Students need to get a good night's sleep and eat a good breakfast before coming to school each morning!

During the CMAS testing period, there is a strict NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES policy, which includes any and all of the following:
  • Smart Phones
  • FitBits or other worn fitness devices
  • Smart Watches
  • Tablets
  • Laptops
  • Other electronic communication devices
We ask these devices are left at home. If your student brings one to school, they will be asked to store the device in their backpacks.

Due to the CMAS testing, we will not be holding the Principal's Coffee on Thursday, April 19 th I will look forward to meeting with you in May!

Thank you for partnering with us!

Sharon Aguina
Executive Principal
