Dear Parents,

I have to share a couple of things with you that happened this week that make me realize how much I love working with children!

First, I wandered through Science Lab  on Wednesday and our third graders were dissecting cow eyeballs. Stacy Wolff and her volunteers were doing such a great job with the students! As the students disassembled the eyeballs, they identified the various parts and placed them on a paper that had more information about the parts. As a former math and science teacher, this is right up my alley! So, of course, I am oohing and aahing with the students and one little boy said, "I just love vitreous fluid!" I can tell you that he just made my day!  How awesome that our students are getting this experience as third graders and they are embracing the learning. Hats off to Stacy Wolff for creating such an amazing learning environment!

Second, we had the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Company perform the "History of Hip-Hop" for our 4th through 8th grade students. A big thanks to the Xilinx Corporation and to our own PTO for providing the funding to make this happen for our students. It was an incredible experience and to quote one fourth grade student, "I don't know how they make something so complicated look so easy!" To see a video of their amazing performance, visit our website!

So, you can see why I walk around school with a smile on my face! Have an amazing weekend!

Robin Lowe,
Executive Principal
Flagstaff Academy

If you'd like to enroll non-Flagstaff Academy students for the 2017-2018 School Year, you will need to fill out an Enrollment Application, which is also now live. As a current Flagstaff Academy family, your application will be given priority status.

If you have a PreK-2 student returning for PreK 3 or PreK4, please fill out the Intent to Return for that student.

If you experience any technical difficulties, or have questions, please contact Sheila Strukel, Registrar, at  enroll@flagstaffacademy.org720-864-9090

Thank you for being a part of our amazing Dragon Family!

Attendance Reminder

If your child is absent, please give 24 hours notice to your teacher for gathering homework or classroom materials. Also, if this is an extended absence (several weeks or more) that you know about in advance, please give a minimum of one week to gather the needed materials.

Remember, your child's teacher is actively teaching and can't be interrupted to prepare for make-up materials. We need to time to ensure we are meeting the needs of the students in the classroom as well as those who are absent.

We appreciate your cooperation with this matter.

Holiday Treats for Faculty & Staff

 Date: Wednesday, December 14th
(Drop off during driveline or deliver to the library)

Sign up Today!

Please join us in showing our amazing team of faculty and staff how much we appreciate them this holiday season. How can you help? We are asking our Flagstaff Academy families to donate your favorite homemade holiday treat (cookies, bread, fudge, party mix, etc.). We need 110 treats so that every member of our Flagstaff team can take something home for the holidays. We will be collecting items during driveline the morning of Wednesday, December 14th.

Please provide a family-sized serving (a plate full of cookies, a loaf of bread, a pie) on a disposable plate/tin covered in clear plastic wrap. We would appreciate you attaching a card/tag with your family's name and any pertinent allergy information. If you would include the recipe for your treat that would be wonderful, but not required. The PTO's Hospitality Committee will wrap each treat in holiday cellophane and ribbon. The treats will then be place on the reading steps in the LMC for the staff to come in and select one.

Please contact Elizabeth O'Hara at ejmorris22207@yahoo.com with any questions.

Thank you!
