CoreVirtues  Letter from Sharon Aguina, Executive Principal

Dear Flagstaff Community,

Thank you again for our parents who came to our Curriculum Coffees for the K-5 Math Curriculum Renewal. Based on the input from parents and teachers, the internal Math Committee chose to go forward with EnVision 2.0. The recommendation was presented to the Board of Directors on Tuesday, February 20th, and they supported this choice. We are very pleased about this announcement and feel this will benefit students and their growth in the important area of mathematics.  Some of the top teacher comments about EnVision 2.0:

  • User-friendly, all-inclusive and easily accessible resources, including those for differentiation
  • Strong online support
  • Aligned to Standards and formats mimic State Assessments
  • Many types of assessments with online options (pre-tests, reviews, check-ups, etc.), as well as student performance and needs
  • Online grading for homework (Grade 3-5)
  • Online manipulatives
  • Adaptive homework and lessons, including for absent students
  • Remediation
  • Embedded EL toolkit and strategies
  • Cross curricular activities:
    Daily Challenge, Prove It,
    Math Anytime Options, Convince Me
  • Vocabulary and cards, including teacher reviews
  • Website similar to Google classroom, with embedded Science and Technology
  • Combined directions and workbook textbook
  • 120 lessons fit into the year; room to teach and review

2017-2018 Flagstaff Academy Parent Survey

On Monday, February 26th, you will receive an email from Dr. Josh Packard and the Social Research Lab inviting you to take the 2017- 2018 Flagstaff Academy Parent Survey. The Social Research Lab helps to ensure that survey responses are aggregated and kept anonymous.

Please take 5-10 minutes to provide us with your valuable feedback to continue improving Flagstaff Academy to serve your family. The survey period is open through Friday, March 16th.

We have some really fun incentives for classes who have the highest survey return rates - the top elementary and middle school classes will get to have a "Free Dress" day.  Finally, make sure to login to Infinite Campus to make sure we have the correct email for you!

We count on your feedback and thank you! Go Dragons!
