Dear Parents,

For our Wednesday Late Start day this month, our middle school students spent part of the day learning and practicing ways to de-stress. In some classes students were creating new dances or practicing yoga poses and learning how to deep breathe to work through anxieties and stress. In other classes, students were journaling or game playing, or creating works of arts.

As I wandered through the classes, I was so appreciative of the fact that at Flagstaff Academy our staff takes the time to incorporate ways to meet the social and emotional needs of our students, not just the academics. Not every school purposely plans and teaches students how to recognize and deal with the psychological aspects of growing up, while also giving students a rich and inviting academic experience. This is just one way that Flagstaff Academy is such a unique learning environment for students.

Have a wonderful weekend (I'm secretly praying for snow!!)

Robin Lowe,
Executive Principal

The Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley 2017 Encore Awards
