Hello Dragon Families,

Our amazing and generous Parent Teacher Organization is just over a month away from presenting our annual Cheers to Flagstaff
spring fundraiser. This is an annual tradition where our parents, guardians, a many staff come together and build community while we raise money for our school. Without the generosity of our families and community supporting the PTO, we would not be able to provide all of the amazing opportunities for our students and staff available at Flagstaff Academy. Your support of our PTO has provided great improvements to our program in the following ways:
  • Multiple Chromebook carts throughout the school
  • Laptops for teachers
  • Instruments for our music program
  • Thousands of books and e-book titles for our LMC
  • Robotics across our entire program
  • Professional development for our staff
  • Two climbing walls for our PE program
  • Several touchscreens and alternative furniture in support of our "Classrooms of the Future"
This year, proceeds from Cheers to Flagstaff will raise funds to offset operational expenses so that we can use those dollars to improve our teacher and staff compensation. Your donations will be used to offset expenses for:
  • Field Trips and Transportation- $20,000
  • Software and LMC Databases- $15,000
  • Books for Classrooms and the Library- $40,000
I hope to see you at Cheers to Flagstaff on Friday, April 26th at 6:30 p.m. This year's venue, the Longmont Museum and Cultural Center is one of our community's top cultural hubs, with catering by the Cheese Importers, and childcare available through our own Dragon Flight. Cheers to Flagstaff tickets are now on sale , as are the raffle tickets for the incredible baskets and teacher experiences. I look forward to seeing you there!

2018-2019 Flagstaff Academy Parent Survey - SURVEY ENDS TODAY!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

On  Monday, March 4th , you received an email from Dr. Josh Packard and the
Social Research Lab  inviting you to take the 2018-2019 Flagstaff Academy Parent Survey. Please take 5-10 minutes to provide us your valuable feedback to continue improving Flagstaff Academy to serve your family.  The survey period is open through Friday, March 22nd.

We have some really fun incentives for classes who have the highest survey return rates - the top elementary and middle school classes will get to have a "Free Dress" day!

Join the Board of Directors!

The Flagstaff Academy Board of Directors Elections Committee is now accepting applications for Board of Directors positions.

Members of the Board of Directors are volunteers responsible for providing oversight and governance for Flagstaff Academy in accordance with the mission and charter of the school. Board members help set and approve the school's annual budget, define school policies, help guide the academic mission, and oversee the work of the Executive Director and academic leadership.

This year we are seeking three (3) new members to join the Board of Directors. This year we have a particular need for Directors who have business management, legal, financial, or educational expertise . But most importantly, we are seeking people who have a passion to serve, work well as a team, think critically, are willing to learn, and will make decisions for the betterment of the school as a whole . We have had men and women from all walks of life serve successfully as members of the Board.

Serving the Board of Directors can have a very meaningful impact on our school, so please consider applying! Applications are available on Board of Directors Elections webpage, and are due by Friday, April 5, 2019 at 5:00PM MDT. Flagstaff Academy presents a screening and discussion of "Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age," the award-winning documentary by Dr. Delaney Ruston. The film explores the impact of screen technology on kids and families.

If you have yet to pay, please do so now.  Payments are accepted online at RevTrak  via credit card or echeck, by cash or check payable to "Flagstaff Academy." Check payments are accepted at the school or can be mailed to: Flagstaff Academy, 2040 Miller Drive, Longmont, CO 80501, Attention: Business Office. Activity fees payments are non-refundable.

If making the full payment represents a hardship, partial payments can be made as well. Families who qualify for Reduced/Free Lunch are eligible for reduced or free activity fees.  Thank you!
