LeadershipLetter
LEADERSHIP LETTER: Katie Gustafson, Middle School Principal

Dear Dragon Families,

I'm excited to report another successful trip to Pingree Park! Every September, our middle school moves to the mountains for three days of experiential learning, environmental stewardship, and community building. This is one of the most anticipated experiences each year for our students and teachers. We are so grateful to the army of staff members and parent chaperones who helped us embark on a new adventure this year: two locations! Not only did our staff put in countless hours in preparations and teaching in the mountains, we enjoyed the expertise of the Colorado Mountain Club, and amazing experiences on both high and low ropes courses for all of our students. We can't forget to acknowledge the contributions from all of our parents in working ahead of time to prepare their children both physically and emotionally for a trip like this. Thank you for supporting our efforts!

We know the research shows that teachers are one of the most influential factors in the success of students in school. We are so fortunate to have excellent teachers throughout our building. As we venture into October, we look forward to the connections you will also build with our amazing faculty at the Dragon Dash and Parent Teacher Conferences. Whether your child attends preschool, eighth grade, or somewhere in between, we celebrate the community and connections that are so unique to Flagstaff Academy. Thank you for being part of what makes our school so special.

Have a great weekend!

Katie Gustafson
Middle School Principal
