Upcoming Communal Events at Chabad Flamingo!

Members of our Chabad Flamingo community unite bi-annually (before Rosh Hashanah and Pesach) to provide food for underprivileged Jewish families. We’ve assembled food boxes for 160 families! Donate funds or time to help pack & distribute. Entirely, 100% of all monetary donations are spent on food only. Packing day is Sunday, April 2, starting at 9:30 am at 6250 Bathurst St (near Steeles) in the social hall on the main floor. (Students can earn volunteer hours!) Let’s Hand It to the Shmurah
|
|
Eating Matzah at the Seder (after nightfall from 8:26 pm) nourishes faith in Hashem all year long. Our sacred tradition says only handmade Shmurah Matzah should be used. We’ve again secured a limited supply of quality, Canadian-made Matzah at rock-bottom prices, and are passing the savings on to you. Shul members pay only $27/lb., non-members: $30/lb. While supplies last!

Owning Chametz on Pesach is strictly prohibited. By midday Erev Pesach, it’s has to go! To avoid wasting food, it may be sold it to a Gentile. Rabbi Kaplan arranges this at no cost; you just have to appoint him! Pick up or print the Chametz Sale Form, complete it then drop it off at our office, fax it (905-763-3470) or scan and email it. Shul Donations welcome - especially from non-members.

The City of Vaughan graciously accommodates our community’s need to dispose of Chametz before the onset of Pesach with giant garbage disposal bins at the Garnet A. Williams Community Centre, 501 Clark Avenue West, at the southeast corner of the parking lot. April 5, 6, 7 & 9 - 7am to 9 pm daily (closed April 8th), April 10th 7am – noon. Disposal is during these hours only.

Community Shaimos drop off is at 770 Chabad Gate on April 4th between 9am-3pm. The cost is $10.00- shopping bag $25.00 garbage bag for disposal of sacred items such as old Tefillin, Mezuzot, Siddurim, Chumashim or even Chayenu booklets and Bencher pamphlets. Please do not drop these off at Chabad Flamingo since it will incur additional costs for The Shul.
