Cleveland-based Flannery | Georgalis is excited to announce that it has opened an office in Charlotte, North Carolina. F|G Charlotte is the Firm's third office nationwide and adds significant depth to F|G's experienced team of former prosecutors and former law enforcement investigators. F|G Charlotte, like the Firm’s offices in Cleveland and Pittsburgh, focuses on handling sensitive matters and trial work, including complex criminal defense, corporate investigations, tax controversy, and anti-money laundering and Bank Secrecy Act matters. The team includes Perry Mastrocola, a former IRS-CI special agent, former federal prosecutor, and former senior bank investigator; David Brown, a former DOJ Tax Division prosecutor and the former First Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina; and Jimmy Messer, a former federal law enforcement officer and former bank internal investigator. PERRY MASTROCOLA Partner Over the course of his 27-year career, Perry Mastrocola has handled numerous high-profile financial cases, including criminal and civil tax enforcement, money laundering, and Bank Secrecy Act matters. He prosecuted federal criminal cases as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney and led the IRS's Charlotte field office. DAVID BROWN Partner David Brown is a former First Assistant U.S. Attorney, Criminal Chief, and Sr. Litigation Counsel from the Western District of North Carolina. During his distinguished career, he also spent twelve years in the DOJ's Tax Division, where he led tax prosecutions across the country, successfully prosecuting more than twenty federal criminal tax cases in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.  MEET DAVID

JIMMY MESSER– Investigator Before joining Flannery | Georgalis, Jimmy served as a Special Investigator for a major national bank’s AML Investigation Department. There, he was responsible for leading sophisticated internal bank investigations, performing due diligence, and advising the bank in cases involving fraud, compliance, and other complex circumstances.
