GREETINGS FROM
FLATHEAD SHELTER FRIENDS !

This is the seventh edition of our monthly newsletter. We hope you have enjoyed our letters this year and want us to continue with our efforts to keep you informed and up to date on the events planned in our valley to help our pet friends who are looking for homes to find one. We encourage visiting the County Animal Shelter - so many great
dogs and cats are waiting to be taken home. These adoptable pets are clean,
tested for health problems, vaccinated, microchipped , neutered and are ready to go pets.

When you consider these advantages of adopting a rescue pet - the modest charges are more than worth it.

As well taken care of as our rescue animals are at the shelter , living in a small space without a real family is not
the best thing for any animal.

We hope you will support us in our efforts to find homes for all of these wonderful animals. We also have a pet fostering program.

You might find it interesting to view our Shelter Statistics to see how we are doing so far this year - how many animals have arrived at and have left the shelter. It is pretty amazing.   Please check out the link below.

CAT OF THE MONTH

BOE TIE OCT
BOE TIE

Hi - can you tell how I got my name? I'm
just a little over a year old and am looking for my forever family. I am an indoor cat, and prefer adults. Wouldn't you like to take me home with you? I love to be petted, but I'm also pretty independent. I'm happy to
watch the world go by through the window.

I have other cat friends here at the shelter who would love to meet you!

BEAR'S BLOGbear's blog photo
Hi there!

Wow! Suddenly there is snow in my yard - that sure happened fast! Brrr - I don't stay out too long in the morning!

Halloween is almost here, and I know some
pet parents love to dress up their pet friends with costumes. We'll , some of us can handle that and think it's fun, but some of us would rather not. We hope you
won't force those of us who would 'rather not'.  If you do put us in a costume, please
make sure that it won't constrict us in any way and make us uncomfortable . Be sure that whatever costume you choose is plenty big and that we can move freely,
urinate and generally be comfortable. Please remember, we love our humans, but we usually don't like to dress up like you do - well, not always, but I sure like my life jacket because that means we're going to have fun!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN from me and my family!

BEAR'S TRIVIA ANSWERS:
 Dog answers:
1. True! It is best to choose a dog with a nature
that fits your lifestyle than to try to change the dog's basic nature.

2. True!  Too much affection without the other principles first are going to lead to frustration
for the dog and for the pet owner.

3. False!  Generally,  a Jack Russell would not be a good choice for people looking for a mellow, mild mannered dog
_________
Cat answers:
1. False - beige is not considered a cat fur color.

2. False - Being sedentary is not a reason a cat will shed excessivly - allergies, winter coat shedding are causes - check with your vet if you
