Business and Community Updates
Broadband Updates

As you see fiber being offered in the community, different telecommunication providers are offering service. The Port's project is supplied through three local companies- Pocket iNet, Columbia iConnect, and Emerge by Inland Cellular. A few of these local companies also offer voice over IP phone systems.

The Port was awarded $37,400 from the Association of WA Counties to assist us in BEAD planning. BEAD requires every other household in the county to be serviced. Fiber is not feasible to reach the more remote areas of the county, so this money will help develop strategies for alternative internet systems.

Craft Malt & Grain Cluster

Our port commission approved Urban Patterns for architectural services for the craft malt project and Anderson Perry for civil engineering services. Anderson Perry is working on SEPA, which is a precontract requirement from CERB.

Mainstem Malt was a successful recipient of the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Grant. This will help them with financing the project.

Port commission approved funds to pursue designing another building, as the grain cluster continues and more partners are interested in locating at Blue Mountain Station.

As we continue our outreach please share the survey with local growers and food businesses! You can find more information about the grain cluster here.
