A New Home,

a New Beginning

By Maria Reolin,

Executive Director

We’ve moved!

After years of providing vital services in a space that was small, dark, and often unwelcoming, we are now proud to welcome our community into a brand-new, light-filled, and much larger space.

This move is about more than square footage—it’s a statement.

For too long, our clients—many of whom live in overcrowded, temporary, or substandard housing—were met with a physical environment that reflected the hardships they face. It quietly reinforced the message that they didn’t deserve better. But we know they do.

Our new location is not just more functional, it’s transformational. With more room, we can accommodate additional participants in our programs, from English classes and Bible studies to food distribution and wellness activities. The natural light, bright walls, and fresh design make it a genuinely happy place—one that lifts spirits and sparks hope.

Most importantly, it shows our clients that they matter. That they are worthy of dignity, beauty, and space. That this community belongs to them, and it is built with them in mind.

This move is not just a change of address. It’s a renewed commitment to serving our clients with care, respect, and joy.

We are deeply grateful for the generous support of FaithWorks, which we value enormously, and we hope to continue this meaningful partnership in the future.

From problem comes opportunity:

Burundi partner to make life-saving food locally instead of importing it

(from Connect newsletter, June edition)

When USAID paused funding in February, children at Village Health Works (VHW) in Burundi faced a devastating shortage of lifesaving therapeutic food. In response, VHW—with support from Alongside Hope—is launching Magara Meza, a local, sustainable RUTF production initiative. This community-led solution will fight malnutrition, create jobs, support farmers, and ensure no child goes without care. Together, we’re turning crisis into long-term resilience.
