Win a Free iPad Mini 5!
Flight Log
May 2019
Dear fellow pilot,

Welcome to May!  I don't know about you but we're VERY busy this month so I'll keep this issue short.   Spoiler alert:  Win a new iPad mini 5 if you help us name a major new feature in FlyQ EFB 4.0.  See below...

Quick personal note:  My son is graduating from high school next month and then off to college in the fall.  I'm sure some of you are in the same position so I'd like to congratulate all the moms and dads out there with high school or college seniors.  Strange times...

Now on to the highlights:
I'm Steve Podradchik, the CEO here. I write the newsletter so email me personally if there is something you'd like me to cover next month.  And use the "Follow" feature on our Blog to keep up with daily news, product info, and more.

FlyQ EFB 4.0 Released to Beta

It's taken longer than we'd like but we're happy to say that more than 400 people are now beta testing FlyQ EFB 4.0.  It's a huge release ... most notably the amazing Visual Logbook.  It also includes an elegant way for CFI's to connect with and track their students and a super easy, very powerful way to connect and learn from your friends' flights.

Name the Feature & Win an iPad!

The new iPad mini 5 is perfect for flying with FlyQ so we want to give you one.  Just one catch: help us name a new feature in FlyQ EFB 4.0.

Version 4.0 is all about an incredibly powerful, extremely visual logbook that records flights automatically, plays them back, generates helpful analysis graphs, includes very powerful filtering, and plots where you've flown in a unique "heat map" style display.

But it also includes something never seen in the aviation world and something that, frankly, we're struggling to name:  It's a way to follow your friends' flights and/or let them follow yours as well as share flight photos and comments.  In this way, you can learn more about the airports they visit and learn from their flights.  It's a painless, fun, and useful way to connect with your friends, plane partners, corporate fleet, flying club, or students.

In the past, we referred to this as a "social network" and some people got the impression that it's a mini Facebook.  Nope.  No cat photos, political commentary, or baby pictures (unless you consider your plane your baby); it's just a simple way to see what your friends are up to.  In the revised Pilot's Guide (new features begin on page 106), we refer to it as the "Squawk Network" but we're not necessarily thrilled with that name.  So, read all about the feature in the new Pilot's Guide then email [email protected] a better name!  If we use one you suggest, you win a new iPad mini 5.  In the case of multiple people suggesting the same name, first one to email us wins.
